Creative Media sector have many types of job roles in many different entertainment and information mediums. I myself love all forms of entertainment whether being video games, music, television or films and consider myself more creative than anything else. I want to help create these forms of entertainment especially in video games as I have had unique and immersive experiences with playing a game as opposed to all the other forms.
I think I could work in a creative work environment giving and sharing ideas on a game or a script. Being apart of making something new and original as well as make my own spin on something that we all know. Being creative requires working with others taking into considerations other peoples advice and working with other people especially in terms of the video game industry because studios work in larger groups than ever right now. Having a creative edge can be really special and being vocal about them is the most important because I want game to feel like a personal story or have personal gameplay options for each person because that's what makes it a game stand apart from the rest.
In terms of creative works I have done I have written three of my own films, one being a video game cutscene, and directed four including the ones I have written which doesn't include a music I helped direct and shoot. In terms of the creative process I wrote detailed scripts and though I sometimes changed dialogue on the shoot I almost always had a clear vision from what I wanted from the start after finishing my script.
I worked on making Foley sound effects for 3 10 minute clips of different games with no audio meaning I had to create all the sound effects that would be present in the game e.g. footsteps. I mostly used original sounds I recorded and sourced out a few sounds from the web. Almost all the sounds were heavily edited in Logic Pro changing up the sound using distortion and effects that make it sound like its in a room, etc.
I also worked on a fictional magazine creating 14 pages of content including the front cover and contents using Photoshop. The Magazine was about 5 types of photography and had to be based around a written work we had completed before so the written contents were all ready laid out before we created the magazine.
I also believe I would be good at editorial because I see myself as a good critique on consumer entertainment on many types of mediums and am always very open too ideas. Overseeing and editing projects is something I could absolutely see myself doing as I feel I have a solid stamp of approval of what is a high and quality standard. I listen to all types of genres of music, watch movies and from many different periods of time and play a wide variety of video games. Its important to me that I am able to have all these experiences and understand that a good product could mean anything and a producer or editor that manages the product must be able to see and respect the product for what it is as well as be able to rely on their instincts over survey polls on what could be a good product and what the people truly want because you have to still champion the people's interests over whatever platform you serve on.
Working in editorial also means that I'd be working on overseeing other peoples projects and have to uphold the integrity of their original vision for that project or otherwise it would lack that personal touch from the people that created it because I couldn't see what the writer, director, etc was seeing
I mentioned before I have worked on Foley effects which I had a product and added the necessary sounds to perfect the game.
My films are another example because I edited those by myself and made sure that It was both the original film that i wanted to make but also be a spectacular product even of that meant changing it-up because sometimes things don't always pan out the way you want them too.
