Me and my peers, that were working on the music video, have finished and are pretty pleased with the outcome. When my peers chose chose the song and made the storyboard, one he already had in mind, I was skeptical as the main character dies in the end of the video and there doesn't seem to be much narrative from my perspective. Despite this we ended up with what I believe is a great ameteur music video because we had many ideas among ourselves beyond the storyboard to make it more appealing especially during the 'video game fight scene'. I directed most of the music video to be mostly realistic as to what would happen but also over dramatised the fight scenes and facial expressions to ad an effect on the entire video and for the viewer as this would fit very well with the intensity of the music.
The editing was mostly ran well as most if not all of what we envisioned ended up in the video. My peer experimented a lot in the special effects and I advised him and edited anything I thought need improving or changing. Editing was also very easy because my friend knew the order in which everything would take place and I advised whether scenes would work and where to cut it. I also had to edit the video myself to sync the audio with the visuals t emphasize the feelings in both audio and visuals to create a desired mood and to sync the lips and performance in the video.
The first problem we faced was that this would take much longer to film than we planned because though filming everything collectively would have been a day we took a few weeks because organising all the parties to come to the filming would be quite hard as people had their own work to do a well a filming in locations the we had to book in advance, the theatre, so filming at both places was easier because we shot may scenes on separate days.
Only issues we had with editing was only technical meaning we wouldn't be able to know how to use or do a particular action to edit the video though we overcame all these issues with tutorials online and with the help of a assistant that knew the software pretty well which helped u save the work securely so we had all the files in one place.
We followed a few common conventions in the music video like performance, narrative and a link between audio and visuals to do with the mood. Th meaning behind the video is up to the interpretation of the viewer as we didn't have any main point or higher meaning we wanted to create for the video. Only to create an intense feeling with both the music with the video and make it entertaining as well.
