I want to go through a specific path or stage in a game that is a bit me tricky to get around more easily, e.g. make a really tough fire fight a breeze or give directions to not get caught in a stealth mission. This will be a game I have played and have fairly good experience in because it would be much easier to comment and give advice on. Being able to speak more easily about the game is most ideal as i have to speak about 10 minutes about it.
Of course my main audience would be that of which play the game as this could be helpful for them because they could get better advice on how to play the game themselves. Any other audience would just be gamers that are thinking about getting this game and wish to know more about the game. This meaning my opinion of the game could change the minds of those that are on the deciding edge giving my more personal comments more weight. Though my audiobook is not a review I will make fair comments of the pros and cons of the game. There is also a whole audience that do just watch people talk and play video games for reasons beyond the ones I just mentioned as many can find entertainment in that. This is mostly because of how entertaining they can be, the way they speak, the way they play, how they react. So it is very possible to find an audience beyond the expected, but this means I myself have to try and be more entertaining and enthusiastic when walking through the game to try and appeal to them.
Searching for any examples, there doesn't seem to be any specific form of video game walk through for audiobook only but there are podcasts of people talking and playing video games on both Twitch and YouTube though those do contain the people talking or the game-play. So there isn't any main-stream spoken word recording of someone walking-through a game without video.
Trying to be much more enthusiastic about making the recording would be best as this would greatly help me feel like I can talk about this more easily. I would do this by picking a game I know a lot about as well as enjoy that game very much but most importantly be quite skilled in it too so what I do say is actually helpful. Trying to entertain the listener by making jokes and speaking more of a interesting and light-hearted voice but also try to make what I say clear and as well because they are trying to follow my walk-through and advice on the game.
